Chris has successful sugery
meets Ol' Saw Bones
|
Man, 4:45 AM rolls around pretty fast and early. That's what time we rolled out of a nice warm bed to face a shower, get dressed and deliver Chris to the surgeon. Dr. John Moor of Advanced Sportsmedicine Center was almost ready. We arrived at the Sarasota Ambulatory Surgery Center a little before 6:30 AM and Doctor Moor was already operating on two other patients. Dr. Moor is a sports doctor and orthopedic doctor to the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. We knew Chris was in good hands.
The successful ACL replacement, and MCL/Meniscus repair took around 2-1/2 hours. Chris was in our car at 11:15 AM and complaining that he was hungry because he had not eaten anything since 9:30 PM the night before. So, we pulled into the most nutritious of establishments, McDonalds and got him a #1. We got home and Chris ate his lunch and is sleeping very soundly as I write this report.
A big thanks to Dr. Moor's surgery team and the super nurses and aides at the Sarasota Ambulatory Surgery Center who put up with a lot of silliness from Profile Racer, Chris Fernandez. Chris sees Dr. Moor tomorrow with an assessment of today's surgery and prognosis for recovery.

Nurse Shavon trying to help Chris with his Oxygen tube. 5. Time to go home. (Chris had already eaten peanut butter crackers, drank a bottle of water and is here, working on a multi-flavor popsicle).
